The Well & Often Method
Honoring Pilates Principles with Breath, Intention, and Embodied Progression
Pilates is more than a form of exercise—it is a philosophy, a way of inhabiting one’s body with awareness, strength, and grace. Rooted in six core principles—breathing, control, centering, concentration, precision, and flow—Pilates invites practitioners to cultivate an intentional relationship with movement. In my practice and teaching, I’ve developed a method that brings these principles to life in a grounded, practical, and deeply embodied way. I call it the Well & Often Method.
This method is not a departure from classical Pilates; it is a modern honoring of it. It amplifies the foundation Joseph Pilates laid by incorporating current understandings of anatomy, breath mechanics, and neuroplasticity while staying rooted in the central idea that movement, when practiced with presence and purpose, has the power to transform. The Well & Often Method prioritizes consistency (“often”) and deep internal resourcing (“well”)—not just doing the work, but doing it meaningfully, regularly, and in relationship with your own body.
We don’t chase perfection. We don’t perform movement for the sake of performance. Instead, we move to understand, to reclaim, to connect, to feel, and to heal. My goal isn’t to sculpt you into a version of someone else’s ideal; it’s to help you rediscover your own alignment, your own rhythm, and your own strength—the kind that shows up both on and off the mat.
“You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.” - Joseph Pilates
Well & Often Pilates is for anyone looking to return to their body. Whether you’re postpartum, perimenopausal, post-injury, or simply seeking to reestablish a relationship with movement, this method is designed to meet you where you are and support you in moving forward. We focus on how the movement feels more than how it looks. We emphasize breath as the driver of connection and recovery. We use control to create safety, centering to restore balance, and flow to cultivate joy.
We are building awareness, capacity, and trust—one rep, one breath, one session at a time.
Over the next several articles, I’ll explore each of the original Pilates principles and show how the Well & Often Method uniquely applies, updates, and deepens them. Whether you’re a Pilates teacher, a practitioner, or someone completely new to this world, my hope is that you’ll find resonance in this approach—and permission to come home to yourself.

You don’t have to do it all. Just have to do it well… and often.
